Happy Earth Day and welcome to your weekly scooop of street art, opps, events, and media curated by the BE team. Since 2012, Beautify Earth has produced, promoted, and advocated for art on the streets through local art productions, digital media, and program consulting. Header art by Kentaro.
"Singer, songwriter, producer, rapper, multi-instrumentalist. Music is Ren’s love. Signed when he was just a teenager, Ren fell sick with a mystery illness that took away 5 years of his life, which resulted in taking away his dream. After finally being diagnosed with Lyme disease, Ren underwent a stem cell transplant which brought him back to the world of the living. During a time when he was stuck in his bedroom for years on end, Ren turned to writing and producing which in his words ‘saved his life'. Writing heavily about illness, isolation and depression, his words have resonated with many around the world entwined with striking vocals and a unique musical style."
In honor of Earth Day, PADI, and Blue Robotics have unveiled a stunning new mural in San Diego, and it’s more than just a work of art. It’s a rallying cry for ocean conservation. Painted by Neuro Co-Founder and muralist Kent Yoshimura, the mural depicts sharks, rays, and a thriving kelp ecosystem, celebrating the beauty and ecological importance of these often-misunderstood marine animals. The initiative, supported by the Blue Earth Street Art program and Beautify Earth, brings marine science to the streets—literally—by inviting passersby into a story of balance, biodiversity, and ocean advocacy. “This isn’t just a mural—it’s a call to action,” says Danna Moore, Director of the PADI AWARE Foundation™.
Interested in getting involved in future Blue Earth Street Art projects? If you're an artist, sponsor, or building owner with an interest in marine ecosystems and technology get in touch at hello@beautifyearth.com.
